Theology in the bedroom;
You are born and die in the bedroom.
You are sick in the bedroom.
You love in the bedroom.
You sleep in the bedroom(most vulnerable state) = the process of theology.
Love and fruitfulness and acceptance, also conquest and rejection and oppression.
In Revelation, the bedroom can become a safe place to meet God. A place of liberation.
We can romanticize the bedroom with traits of experience.
No human experience is void of grace and sin.
No human experience can monopolize one action over another.
The irruption of the poor in history, poor bodies represented by the many faces of the poor.
Are we scared of intimacy with God?
Are we scared of revealing our space to God?
The "performativity" of our sexuality is informed by our interpretation of scripture.
Much of that is who is doing theology and where is theology done?
What is God's role in the bedroom?
The body politic can corrupt the general population by amputating other bodies who do not conform to heteronormative ideology.
The eruption of these voices in history is permanent now.
The word becomes Flesh.
Structure determines function- scientific qualitative research.
Liberation from patriarchy.
Liberation from hetero-normativity.
Liberation from cultural and religious boxes.
This is my body, take it, enjoy it, taste it, eat it, becoming this reality that you perceive.
Love with no bounds.
The divine love of the sexual and loving Jesus.
Through baptism, we are born into the ecclesial body of Christ.
We constantly act out of a restrictive sinfulness out of biological resistance over our ecclesial existence.
Jesus can be Queer... Because What can be Queerer than the immaculate conception?
There is a tremendous intimacy between Jesus and his beloved disciple in the book of John.
The Homoerotic intimacy between two men.
The paradigm for all forms of relating.
To say that Jesus is Homosexual is boxing in a category of heteronormative.
Human sexuality is more than reproduction.
Gender transition can be immensely spiritual.
Same-sex and opposite-sex in scripture is used as models of love that mirrors God's love.
If you abandon the Church, then its never going to change.
Fully whole and fully out > then you only stand to gain.
Instead of what's wrong with this picture... What is great about this picture?
Whatever God cannot assume, can be saved- on that fundamental, all human experience can be related to being saved.
That principle must be inclusive enough to be open to all experiences.
Specifically, Christ is in the oppressed.
Ignatius Loyola would say find God in all things... but he would add UNDER THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
*The lyrics in this photo are "A Strange Kind Of Love", a Psalm to me by the great Peter Murphy. They invite me to the painful and liberating transition of going through a portal that Jesus invited us to open in our lives.

A strange kind of love
A strange kind of feeling
Swims through your eyes
And like the doors
To a wide vast dominion
They open to your prize
A strange kind of feeling
Swims through your eyes
And like the doors
To a wide vast dominion
They open to your prize
This is no terror ground
Or place for the rage
No broken hearts
White wash lies
Just a taste for the truth
Perfect taste choice and meaning
A look into your eyes
Or place for the rage
No broken hearts
White wash lies
Just a taste for the truth
Perfect taste choice and meaning
A look into your eyes
Blind to the gemstone alone
A smile from a frown circles round
Should he stay or should he go
Let him shout a rage so strong
A rage that knows no right or wrong
And take a little piece of you
A smile from a frown circles round
Should he stay or should he go
Let him shout a rage so strong
A rage that knows no right or wrong
And take a little piece of you
