BACK TO BLACK

There is a universe in each and every one of us. Everything that composes the human body makes a star, comes from a star, returns to the stars. Carbon for our muscles. Iron for our blood. Calcium for our bones. Oxygen for our breath. Light matter. Dark matter. We are both and we are all, all at once, every moment. Forever. However, we are more. We are fountains of energy. We are in constant movement, constantly shining. Even when still, our blood and our breath stir within us... and we come into our presence. We are omnipotent.
We move in space-time. Time is movement. Space has phenomenal properties. Many in which we are just beginning to understand. In understanding space, we understand ourselves and what composes our being, our life. When fortune tellers and philosophers say “It is all in the stars” they are not fooling you. There is a great deal of understanding that must be attained. Its almost overwhelming which is why we have to detach from reason, the reasoning hampered by physicality and the things based on what we only know. Thinking outside ourselves and opening our reasoning to possibilities and what we think of as impossibilities exposes us to opportunities to become greater entities. This wave of thinking invites us to immortality.
It is fundamental that without darkness, there can be no light. Life possesses both, light and dark matter, light and dark energy. I'm not sure scientist and astronomers would relate the same way I do. One thing is for sure, the expansion of our universe was slowed by gravity. Stars not only have a life- span, they also have a death-span. Spans are simply periods that mark transformations as time goes on. The outflow of energy from the central regions of the star provides the pressure necessary to keep the star from collapsing under its own weight, and the energy by which it shines. The larger the star, the shorter the life span. When a star has fused all the hydrogen in its core, nuclear reactions cease. This deprives the star of the energy needed to support it. The star's internal nuclear fires become increasingly unstable. The core begins to collapse into itself. The star pulsates and throws off its outer layers, enshrouding itself in a cocoon of gas and dust. It goes back to black.
There is far more that we do not know than we know. Captivating to think of infinity to begin with, along with life thriving in infinite space. We can say that some of us as stars collapse into ourselves because the pressure of our own layers becomes too intense and we can not bare all the energy we are projecting. Our core, the mass of our nuclei still remain but we came from dark matter and we return to dark matter... We go back to black.
What happens when we go back to black? What happens when our core collapses? We are all stars in different variations however, we are all composed of the same elements. Some of us continue to shine for billions of years and some of us return into dark energy. We enter our death span sooner than others. We become a black hole.
Black holes are anything but empty voids. They are remnants of larger stars that die in a supernova explosion. The star leaves an ultra magnetic nuclei in the center of its collapse that condenses all mass of matter that falls into its gravitational well. Once anything is under the influence of a holes gravitational orbit, nothing can escape it, not even light... thus it goes into black.
How do we detect a black hole? We can't really “see” in darkness. We see darkness by the light that surrounds it. We can infer the presence of black holes and study them by detecting the light matter nearby. You want to find a black hole? Look for all the young stars that surround it in clusters. Black holes have a dramatic influence on the environment around them – tearing apart and devouring nearby stars, stimulating the growth of new stars in some areas while stalling it in others. When I think of a black hole, I think it is quite possible to refer to it as an entity just as we are all stars. Some entities have collapsed and their dark energy, their mass, their gravity of attraction still thrives. We live in a life span and it can go on for billions of years, more than we can ever measure. Infinity. However, some of us have begun our death span. Some entities have transformed as we all will. This concept transcends the body. This is the energy that we come from in cosmology. Our body is only a span but we were here before, we are here in the present, and we will be here after. There is no such thing as death. Only life. Eternal life.
What happens when we encounter a black hole? I've thought about this for many years. I've thought about some of the darkest energy I've ever encountered in my life. Some of the darkest people I have ever loved. The thing about a black hole is that it is infinitely dense whose gravity is so strong that nothing can escape its immediate proximity, not even light. With equal respect, some of us as hyper giant stars have our own powerful gravitational orbit, just like our sun. We attract and take care of our own cosmic communities, our own smaller stars and our own children planets. Smaller black holes live among our communities, our orbits but with purpose... to cultivate and churn primordial energy. To make room for more stars, again, we cannot see light without darkness. All life is a challenge.
What happens if we are a strong, hyper giant powerful star with energy billions of years old and we encounter a super massive black hole? Stars and their fates happen. Before we meet our fate though, we have the option of creating and sculpting our own destiny. Black holes have a defining feature in their orbit better known as the “event horizon”. It is the point where blackness takes over, the unknown. It is where matter and light can only pass inward. It is where space-time deforms and separates. The deformation becomes so great, there are no paths that lead away from the hole. It is called the event horizon because if an event were to occur within the boundaries of this region, no information would be able to escape to the outside observer, as if the event never even happened. A hyper giant star and a super massive black hole do not make kind neighbors. One will be stronger than the other. Either the monster black hole will exist under the light of the sun in its orbit or the giant star will be torn apart and swallowed by the black hole. There is a super massive black hole in the middle of our own galaxy. Fortunately the power of our sun is much stronger. When we as stars meet a black hole, we can be swept up in its well and be enveloped by its darkness as if we never even existed. As if we never even had anything to offer to our immediate world and only become food, an extension of the center of something wielding dark mass. Or we can overpower its gravity with our own. Resistance. A black hole can either take our power and add to its own, increasing in strength or we can choose our destiny and not disappear.
We live in the start of the “Golden Age.” Where everything meaningful is happening. Where energy is bursting. “The best of times, the worst of times,” as Charles Dickens put it. The period in our cosmological time line where we can consider it the height of summer, of thriving life, the fat of the land, the center. When the best lives are coming into their best forms.

All the same, we will transform into our death-span one day. We will be black holes as well as we are stars. We will be defined by the light that surrounds us. Our core will be powerfully massive and attractive and we will gain from the light of the stars that nurture us. All energy that we have expressed in our life-span, all experience, all building factors that make us who we are will be magnified in implosion. The transition of our own supernova. The love and love lost that we have had will not be swept up in the event horizon but will create it. Love is energy and it is what transcends all space and time. It is what gives our energy purpose and it is what transforms us from to light to darkness and back again. We don't really “return” for that would be a marking of time in the past. We live in all times, in all dimensions, in different forms. That is the beauty of a black hole is that time stops within its body.. We become the unknown and that leaves possibilities endless. That is the beauty of stars, that we all have the energy of evolution. We manifest all properties. If dark matter is a dark void feeding into itself, then it has to have some “life” in order to maintain its existence. Even in the darkest places, the depths of the universe... there is life. Black holes are not voids but portals. They lead us into transition. Both dark and light, fearful and intriguing, our heart, our mind, our core will never die. We are light, and just as every channel of light exist... We will go back to black.

DUALITY 3 FOLDS

What is my aspiration in life? This is such an important question that can only be told thoroughly through actions. This statement is merely a clue to who I am and what I have done and am capable of doing. What is my aspiration in life? It is a haunting question. The desire to be happy is an honest answer. Happiness is the channel to the divine. I can only consider myself a connector to this magnificent property. I bring people together through my work. I connect to them and they connect to me. That's what my life is all about. My art is not my life, but on the contrary, my life is my art. My life is a moving painting, rich in color, dressed in detail and emotional decadence. These factors are my tools. I take these factors and combine them through my experiences and thoughts and make something with them. Sometimes, the object is physical. Other times, it is mental. And when all these elements come together, it is completely transcendental. This is my life.

What is it that calls me to do my work? What is this life all about? So many questions fill my head constantly and consistently. The need to answer these questions is what calls me. I not only must come to understand these questions but I also must challenge myself to answer them adequately and precisely. I answer them through my thoughts and my thoughts are brought forth through my actions. My life is a mystery and my mission is the answer.

When I think about artists who have inspired my intellect I think of some of the greatest lives that have ever benefited humanity by their mere existence. The first book that ever moved me profoundly was “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings,” by Maya Angelou. The written work of Dr. Angelou always spoke to me, but, this work in particular, showed me how life could be transformed into a masterpiece. Maya Angelou's life told her story and her writing was her channel. Her life meant and means so much to the struggles of all those who came before her. For this reason, I find significance in life and all others who have come before me. After reading her work, it made sense to see every one's life as an extension of mine and my life as a chapter in theirs. It opens my scope to the vast undertow of the fluidity that compels me to move in a specific direction, in a specific manner. Maya Angelou raised a kingdom from ashes and did it alone, through the power of her thought and her love of life. She taught me that the heart was in the brain and for that reason it was important to project my ideas and bring them before the world. And it is for that reason that I not only study my life as a piece of art but also study it through psychological learning.

How do I tell my story? I suppose I'm telling a part of my story right now. I tell my story by helping people. I write my story by thinking cleanly and not involving myself in destructive thoughts and behaviors. I must have license to lead people out of darkness. I can only do that by setting an example. Examples can be monumental and monuments are excellent references of history. If one wants to live forever, one must change the world in memorable acts of love. All creation is a product of love. We wouldn't exist if it were not for acts of love. It is vital to remind one another what is important in this life time and how a true sense of self can lead us to creating a better world. Life is hard but it is my belief as a human being that it is easier when you love and be loved in return.

Another artist that stimulated my intellect and made me self-aware of my own powers would be the painter, Frida Kahlo. She was a surrealist in the truest sense being that her life, her pain, was unbelievably real that it was surreal. She inspired emotional capacity in me through her work. Again, she was another artist who's life was her masterpiece. She drew from her experience and overcame the most impossible life situations. Frida Kahlo's passion for change in the world combined with her visceral and muscular style of painting changed Mexico and international art history. Not only was she a woman who faced many disabilities but she was a revolutionary in artistic expression, leaving her stories etched in time through her paintings and journals. I believe she discovered the gift of immortality. Her physical embodiment was a testimony of how it could and could not handle the extreme primal desire she had to live. It is this enduring desire that I find myself fascinated with her life work. I have her portrait tattooed on my skin as a reminder of the connection to immortality.

Through our pains and our joys, we have the ability to tap into the consciousness of living forever. It is this idea that I try to work with, teach, and reiterate to those in need. I believe Frida saw the idea of death differently. I drew from her that there is no such thing as death. Once we stop intellectualizing every moment of our life and let go of our senses hampered by physicality, we come closer to our moment of truth and we discover who we really are. It is an exercise in alchemy as much as it is in transformation. We begin to go beyond all limitations and we are led to a discovery of a freedom that has its own unique significance for each and every one of us. The lives I have encountered thus far in this life time have done this for me and I can only wish to do the same in return through my life work, whatever form it may take. Enlightenment and resilience are large parts of my purpose. How one perceives pain and death and negativity is a large variable in the formation of one's identity. I teach people how to take these negatives and turn them into positives. I do this for myself and in turn, I do it for others. Nothing in this world is free. Everything depends on exchange. It is important that these exchanges are equalized so that we may all value each others' happiness and in turn, we all become equal.

When I think about A future, not just mine, but a future, I consider what that encompasses for humanity. It is essential to the greater good of all our well being to think about what we are thinking about. Its not easy to not let emotion override you. Sometimes the complexity is subtle and we don't even know we are conditionally thinking negatively about ourselves or others. Intuition is absolutely essential to the study of behavioral sciences. My third inspiration to my work (and definitely not my last) is the director, Stanley Kubrick. Every time I see his films is the first time I see his films. His body of work is an education to me on the study of the human dilemma,”What is the meaning of life?” I consistently discover new meaning and detail to each of his films every single time I view and review his films in repetition, which I do so frequently. His ideas are colossal and his importance to our culture as an artist is powerful. Kubrick's work is an education. Not only does his life speak through his work but takes a clear stand on the observations of life as we know it.

Stanley Kubrick had discovered the connection between the senses and the spirit by defining and defying the lines of mankind and the fantastic simultaneously. He was fearless in his work and it was well documented by his life. He did not find a calling, Stanley Kubrick was born knowing. He was a gifted artist, a genius and he shared his gifts with the world. This is a trait I work on discovering within myself and others. “With great power comes great responsibility” and as powerful people, we must be responsible for every thought and action we reproduce. Facing fears and stirring our spirit from within can only lead us to make our own connections with our senses and our spirits. Having a complex belief system is something vital to the evolution of our consciousness. We must learn and keep learning about ourselves and the world at large. I believe, as an aspiring artist, psychologist, athlete, however I choose to set an example in this world, one must have a love for learning. It is the dynamic in which our thought goes forward in time and grants us new life in every breath.

Listening to the right people and being inspired by the right sources is what makes my purpose clear- to help others see light even in the darkest places. It is a gift that can be easily expressed for some but as far as my own work, it takes a great deal of investigation and research of how the mind and the body are connected to this dimension in which we co-exist. Once that connection is established we can connect with others more freely and meaningfully. I help people connect to the importance of their present mind by connecting with them. I'm not sure what I think about the future because I see my present as my future so what is important is my present happiness and expressing that perpetually to others. Spreading happiness sounds easy but ultimately it is one's own responsibility that we owe to ourselves. I cannot assure people I will make them happy but I can give them tools to seek out and discover their own personal happiness so that we can be happy together and conquer the pains of life, together. I see myself as a humanitarian with knowledge that will benefit everyone who will ever pass through my world because my world is our world and the only world I will ever know. The responsibility of creating a good world belongs to us all. I stand appointed.

bon appetit...

I had this dream last night that I was staying in a decadent hotel overrun by mice. These mice were not of the usual type but appeared to be slightly larger than the average mouse, white, with fluffy coats and manes. In short, they looked like little white lions.

I checked in with my cat and two kittens. It was the afternoon and I had no idea where my cat was roaming but the kittens were lounging with me when the mice appeared. They were not intimidated by the kittens and even began heckling them and playing lively in front of them as to taunt them. The kittens of course played into their trap and began attempting to attack. They chased and darted for them but the mice jumped on their backs and began to ride the kittens like horses.

My cat Benny wandered into the room and like clock work, his instincts hypnotized him and his eyes zeroed in on the mice. His pupils dilated and his body tensed. He quickly plucked the mice of the backs of the kittens and and shoved them both down his flexible esophagus as the kittens watched and learned and I stood in awe. I could the shape of the mice struggling down his throat as his body tightened and squeezed every bit of life out of the mice. His mouth not fully closed and I could see the paralyzed furry face of the last mouse staring out of Benny's mouth as the jaws of death closed in on him.

Benny was my cat of 21 years. He died two years ago and like many loved ones who have passed on from me, he came to visit me in my dreams. Whatever was bothering me, he ate it. If any others stand to throw a stone, I now know how to widen my jaw and eat them alive.  Thanks Benny boy... you wanted to live forever and you do with me. Keep protecting me. I miss you.

Writing will withstand the test of time...

Recommendations...

It was recommended to me that I begin writing a post everyday. Regardless of length or content... the importance is to write. Writing is one of my favorite art forms that I have always treasured. Whether it be prose or poetry... I have always been captivated to the transcendental power the written word possess. It leads our soul out of our body through our eyes and enraptures us into a different world. I've always felt the structure of writing to be almost as abstract as the structure of music... yet, we would not have musical archives without writing. With that being said, writing will transcend all forms of formal and informal forms of communication. Literacy is recession proof. It is important to our communication that we all write. Attribution, passion, and imagination humanize the written word. The expression of these traits will not only give life to our stories but also breathe new life into our accounts and prepare them to be passed on in legacy. I have a legacy of experiences and they have a need to be told...
